Mario Sousa | President
Mario was appointed president May 2009, and he has a background in both underwriting and broking. In 1987, he joined Elliott Special Risks LP (ESR) and has held a number of key roles including Vice President and Senior Vice President. Prior to his latest appointment, he served as the National Marketing Manager where he played a leading role in shaping and developing the brand and reputation of ESR.
Anne Toms | Senior Vice President
Anne was appointed to her current position in June 2009. Her career has included a management role with Markel Insurance Company in Canada from 1981-1983. Joining ESR in 1985 as a Senior Underwriter, she has proven to be a valuable asset, having held the roles of Manager and Vice President prior to her most recent appointment where she is also responsible for the strategic management of all ESR underwriting departments.
Laetitia Bourdin | Vice President Finance
Laetitia has been part of the ESR family since September 1997, working out of our Montreal office. She has held the role of Controller since 2001, was appointed to Assistant Vice President in 2006 and became Vice President in 2010. Laeitita earned her Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University. Her recent appointment to the Executive Management Team in March 2011, reaffirms she is a valuable asset to ESR.
Tom Warden | Vice President
Tom began his career in 1981 with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies holding key underwriting management roles in their specialty commercial lines across Canada. In 1995, he went to the UK to assume management of their European specialty lines and later their specialty international business. He joined ESR in 2006 as Vice President and D&O Manager and was appointed to the Executive Management Team March 2011.
